blessing of the fleet

Be a part of the time honored tradition by registering with the festival office! Blessing of the Fleet is Sunday from 10:00am until noon in the Atchafalaya River. All boats must be registered with the Festival Office. Click HERE to download registration & information.

Open Thursday through Monday, you can find an assortment of Mitchell Brothers Amusement Carnival rides for all ages.

CHILDREN’S DAY ACTIVITIES

Saturday in Lawrence Park, open to children ages 8–12. Registration begins at 8:45AM day of. For a full schedule breakdown, click HERE.

children’s DAY parade

Saturday morning at 11:00am, children will parade around Lawrence Park on decorated scooters, bikes and wagons. Completely free to participate and registration happens day of in front of City Hall. For a full schedule click HERE.

Children’s village

Children’s area open on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00pm offering bounce houses, face painting, and games FREE of charge.

Join us as we crown and celebrate our new royalty the weekend prior to the festival!

fireworks on the river

Sunday night at 9:00pm, Fireworks will blast into the sky over the Berwick Bay. Tune into KQKI 95.3FM for synchronized music.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

MASS IN THE PARK

Sunday at 8:30am attend a unique mass in Lawrence Park honoring the shrimping and petroleum industries. If inclement weather occurs, Mass will be moved.

VENDORS

3RD STREET MUSIC STAGE

A second, acoustic stage that has acts on Saturday & Sunday! Under the US HWY 90 Bridge. Also the spot of the Royal Shrimp Rumble hosted by Gulf State Wrestling. For a full lineup click HERE.

100 black men 5k run/walk

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS :

Are there atms available?

An ATM trailer is located in the food court (close to Second St.) under the bridge.

How much does it cost to attend?

FREE! Our festival does not charge an admission fee. Bring money for your food, drinks, rides and arts and crafts if you wish to purchase.

What happens if it rains?

The festival will still go on, rain and or shine! Only in the event of an emergency, will we be forced to cancel or reschedule. Bring your rain boots!

What if i lose (or find) something?

Please check with the Festival Office, 715 Second St., with the police officers in the Gazebo in Lawrence Park or at their Command Center under the bridge just before the carnival.

What is the Shrimp and petroleum festival?

Our festival is a FREE five-day event with music, food, carnival, arts and crafts and MUCH more. All are welcome!

What should i bring to the festival?

We suggest sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, comfortable footwear, lawn chairs and rain gear (JUST in case)!

What should i leave at home?

Please leave your pets and your ice chests at home!

when and where is the festival held?

Our festival is every Labor Day Weekend in Downtown Morgan City (305 Everett St.)

When is the performance schedule released?

We try to release our music lineup at least six weeks before the festival. Be sure to check our Facebook and Instagram!

Where should i stay?

You can find all of our area accommodations on the Cajun Coast site.

Will there be merchandise for sale?

You can purchase festival merchandise at Skipper’s Sporting Goods (they will have a booth in the first block of Arts & Crafts after the food area). You can purchase the festival poster and pin at the Festival Office. We also have previous years’ posters available for purchase.
